I volunteered at an NSBE event recently, and based on my experience, it was genuinely worth it. From the moment I got there, people were friendly, helpful, and made it easy to figure out where I was needed. The event felt organized without being overly complicated, and I never felt out of place. Overall, it was a positive experience and I’d be happy to volunteer with them again.

I had a smooth time using NSBE. The navigation is straightforward, and I liked how quickly I could get to the events section and membership details without clicking around forever. The menu labels actually made sense, and the pages loaded quickly while I was browsing. Overall, it felt organized and easy to use...

I really like what NSBE stands for, and my cousin actually encouraged me to check it out, but using nsbe.org to connect with a chapter has been kind of hit or miss. Some of the updates felt outdated, and I wasn’t always sure who I should reach out to. The info for my local chapter wasn’t super clear either. It’s not useless by any means, but it can get frustrating when you’re genuinely trying to get involved.

I found the info useful overall, but some of the updates were a little confusing and I had to go back and reread them a few times. If you’re using it, I’d just recommend taking a minute to double-check the messages so you don’t miss anything.

It’s worth it for the networking alone. I do feel like they kind of know members will stick around for that access, but overall it’s still a good value.

I joined mainly because I was hoping the networking side would be helpful, but it sorta fell flat for me. A lot of the events I checked out were either way too crowded or just not really set up in a way that made real conversations easy. I didn’t end up meeting many people in my field, and the few follow-ups I tried didn’t go anywhere. Maybe it’s better for students or people in different industries, but for me it just wasn’t really worth the time.

I checked out NSBE.org while trying to figure out my next career move, and it was actually useful. They have job links, event info, and other career resources that made things feel a little less overwhelming. I still like to double-check details and be careful about what I sign up for or share online, but overall it helped me get a better idea of what steps to take next.

I’m genuinely a fan of what NSBE stands for, so I was kind of surprised by how frustrating the support experience on nsbe.org ended up being. I reached out with a simple account question and then got to enjoy the classic waiting game way longer than expected, which was delightful, obviously.

When someone finally replied, the answer felt really generic and didn’t actually solve the issue, but I guess copying and pasting counts as help now. I had to follow up again just to get anywhere, which was annoying. It wasn’t a complete disaster, but for an organization like this, I definitely expected better

The yearly membership price feels reasonable to me, especially if you’re a student. It’s not too expensive, and everything is laid out in a way that’s easy to understand. I’d say it’s worth checking out if you’re looking for something around this price range

I was hoping this would make finding scholarships a lot easier, but i didn’t get much out of it. Maybe I expected too much, but I feel like they didn’t really point me in the right direction or make the options easy to find. I ended up feeling on my own with it...

I was feeling rushed when I started, but this still ended up being really useful. It helped me build real leadership skills and feel more confident stepping up and leading

I was really looking forward to this event, but i left feeling like I probably shouldn’t have spent the money on it. Check-in took forever, a few sessions started late without much of a heads-up, and it felt like the important info was scattered everywhere. Some of the volunteers were nice and tried to help, and the speakers were okay, but the whole thing just felt more disorganized than I expected. I wanted to enjoy it more, but I definitely had some buyer’s remorse by the end.

I’ve really enjoyed the alumni events, they’re a great way to stay connected and meet people with shared experiences. The network itself feels genuinely helpful and active, which I appreciate. My only small gripe is that some of the info on the site seems a bit outdated at times, so more regular updates would make the experience even better!

I joined NSBE mostly because I was looking for people who kind of understood what engineering school feels like, especially when you’re trying to figure it all out and not feel completely on your own.
The mentorship ended up helping me more than I expected. My mentor didn’t just give vague advice and disappear. He checked in every so often, helped me clean up my resume, and talked through internship stuff with me in a way that didn’t make me feel clueless.

It’s not like everything is perfect, and sometimes it takes a bit to hear back, but overall I’ve gotten support that feels real. More or less, it’s been nice knowing there’s someone in my corner

nsbe.org definitely has helpful resources, especially if you're a student or looking for event info. But am I the only one who feels like it can be a little cluttered? I had to click around more than expected just to find some basic stuff. Some pages worked totally fine, while others felt kind of outdated. Overall, it’s useful, but I wish it was a bit simpler and easier to navigate.

NSBE has been a big help for finding student resources, events, and opportunities. I really do get the feeling that they care about students, and when a chapter is active, it can feel like an absolute lifesaver.

The only thing is that support can be painfully slow sometimes. Like, I’d send an email and start wondering if my message vanished into another dimension. I did get help eventually, but I had to follow up. Overall it’s good and worth using, just not always the smoothest experience.

I went in not expecting much, but the job fair actually ended up being useful. I talked to a few companies and got a couple of interviews lined up. There was a little confusion with directions when I first got there, which felt preventable, but overall it was worth going

NSBE.org has been a helpful place for finding events, local chapters, and other people in engineering who actually understand some of the things you’re navigating. I really appreciate having conference details, networking opportunities, and professional resources in one spot, especially in a field where people should be able to feel supported and seen.
The site can be a bit clunky at times, and I do wish some pages were updated faster, but overall it’s a resource I keep coming back to. It feels like a good community with a real purpose, making space for Black engineers to connect and grow is just the decent thing to support

I went to the NSBE conference it was kind of disappointing. Check-in took way longer than it should have, and a few of the sessions felt scattered. I did meet some cool people, so it wasn’t a total waste, but overall I expected it to be more organized.

NSBE.org has been such a great resource for me. Seeing so many Black engineers, students, and professionals all connected in one space made me feel way less alone in this field.
What I really appreciate is that it’s not just inspirational words or surface-level diversity talk. There are actual events, job opportunities, mentors, and support systems that feel genuinely useful and motivating.
The site can feel a little packed at times, but the value is absolutely there. It’s made a real difference for me, and I’d happily give it 5 stars.
